Pierre-Marie Dupuy | Biography & Photos
Pierre-Marie Dupuy is professor of public international law at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva since 2008. Professor Dupuy has been on leave from the University of Paris (Panthéon-Assas) since 2000. He held the chair of public international law at the European University Institute in Florence from 2000 to 2008.
Professor Dupuy has been involved in more than twenty contentious cases before the International Court of Justice, some of them still pending. He is an international arbitrator and he chaired in particular the PCA International Tribunal in the Abyei Case (Sudan/Southern Sudan) which issued its final award in July 2009. Professor Dupuy has participated in a number of ICC, ICSID and PCA arbitrations dealing with international investment disputes. He gave the General Course of Public International Law at the Hague Academy of International Law in 2000 (RdC. Vol. 297 -2002- 487 p.).
Professor Dupuy is co-editor (together with Profs. U.Petersmann and F.Francioni) of Human Rights in International Investment Law and Arbitration (Oxford University Press, 2009). He is a member of the International Arbitration Institute (IAI).
